The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro might be a hit and miss, at least in Malaysia but here’s something to look forward to next month. Its purported new Vibe Z3 Pro phablet has been leaked extensively and it is said to be launching at MWC 2015 in Barcelona. Spec wise, Lenovo appears to be throwing the whole works including the latest Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB of RAM and a whopping 64GB of storage. For the display, it will be pushing a similar Quad HD resolution but this time they are opting for a more practical 5.5″ screen size.
While the Vibe Z2 Pro camera packs a top end 16MP shooter with Optical Image Stabiliser, the new Z3 Pro is upping the game with an extra tri-colour LED flash and a faster Laser Auto Focus feature. The back of the device looks like a compact point and shoot camera with a metal strip housing the camera lens, focus element, flash and Lenovo branding.
From the close up image, the metal frame looks pretty solid with a bottom mounted speaker grill and lanyard hole at the corner. The power, volume and dedicated camera buttons appear quite premium with its polished metal design. Keeping the lights on is a decent 3,400mAh capacity battery and Lenovo is expected to release this with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Can Lenovo finally have a formidable device in the flagship phablet segment? It all depends on its pricing and go to market speed for the international market.
