Mobile World Congress is happening soon and Huawei is expected to have an announcement event on the 1st of March. If you’re hoping for a new flagship, the Ascend P8 will not be making an appearance in Barcelona. Instead, it is expected to be announced at a separate event in London held on the 15th of April.
So what is Huawei going to announce next month? Similar to last year, they would be announcing a couple of new tablets and smart wearables that could run on Android wear.
Their current TalkBand B1 is basically a water resistant bluetooth headrest that could dock onto your wrist. In terms of function and build quality, we are not that impressed and hopefully they could do better in the next iteration.
For the upcoming Ascend P8, Huawei is unlikely to regain its slimmest title like how it did in the past. Newer players like OPPO and Vivo have been setting new records at 4.85mm and 4.75mm respectively. However Huawei will still be focusing on premium industrial design and its slimness shouldn’t compromise vital functions such as battery life.
