As HTC is about to launch its new HTC One M9 flagship, something has just popped by our local SIRIM database. The HTC One M8 EYE has just passed our local Malaysian certification and it will be distributed by Brightstar Distribution.
The HTC One M8 EYE is basically the same metal clad flagship but it gets a camera update at the back. Instead of its Ultrapixel Duo Camera set up that shoots at 4MP effectively, the One M8 EYE uses a more standard 13MP main shooter that comes with a Duo Camera set up. In a nutshell, it is a HTC One M8 with Butterfly 2‘s cameras.
The rest of the specs are mostly unchanged with a 5″ Full HD display, Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The front still gets a 5MP main shooter as the original model. It was initially released in China last October and it should be made available in Malaysia very soon. If you’re still wanting to get the One M8 but the Ultrapixel cameras have been putting you off, this model might be your cup of tea.
