OPPO aspires to be a global smart phone player and they have been keeping up with their Find flagship series. Last year, its Find 7 had made headlines for having a Quad HD display, a top of the line 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM and a VOOC fast charging feature that charges from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. For 2015, a new replacement is due and the above device is alleged to be its new Find 9.
From the appearance, it looks like a 5.5+ inch device and it looks like it tries to maximise its display space by shifting its earpiece and front facing camera closer to the edge. Design wise, it is more squarish than the current Find 7 which has a subtle curve at the top and bottom. Since it is still early, we would take this purported leak with a pinch of salt.
Word has it that the new Find 9 could be rocking Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 810 processor that’s mated with 4GB of RAM. With its secret relation with OnePlus, this could be the basis of what to expect on the new OnePlus Two smart phone. After all, the current OnePlus One is loosely based on the current Find 7, minus a Quad HD display, microSD and removable battery.
Hopefully OPPO would do better with its software as its current ColorOS 2.0 is still based on Android 4.4 KitKat. While the Chinese smart phone players are getting better with its hardware and design, there’s lots of room to improve when it comes to delivering the latest Android updates.
