OPPO R1C appears – Looks like a bulkier sibling of its R5

Most of the Chinese brands are launching new devices this month in time for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration. For OPPO, they are expected to launch its new U3 smart phone that comes with a 4X Optical Zoom lens in a slim 9mm package. Apart from that, it appears that they are launching another device that’s called the OPPO R1C as pictured above.

It is a 5″ HD 720p smart phone and the rest of its specs are quite similar with its ultra-thin OPPO R5. It runs on Qualcomm’s 64-bit 1.5GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Thankfully, there’s a microSD slot that supports up to 128GB cards. For imaging it gets a 13MP main camera while selfies are handled by its 5MP front shooter.

The sides of the R1C appears to be made of metal like the OPPO R5 except that it is much thicker. According to the source, the biggest highlight is the back, which comes with a sapphire glass panel. So far there’s no word on its battery capacity and we hope that it is more than 2,000mAh which is a major disadvantage on the 4.85mm thin R5.

No word on its price but we reckon it could be around its current OPPO R1L that’s priced at RM1,199. The R1L also sports a similar sized 5″ HD 720p display but it runs on a Quad-Core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM.
