UPDATE: Samsung updates Galaxy A7 specs with a Full HD display instead of just HD 720p announced previously.
Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy A7, the biggest and newest member of its Galaxy A series. The new model made its early appearance recently during the Malaysian launch of the Galaxy A3 & Galaxy A5.
Going through the specs, the Galaxy A7 is the biggest of the lot with a 5.5″ Full HD Super AMOLED display and it runs on a notch higher 64-bit Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor that’s mated to 2GB of RAM. It also includes 16GB of on-board storage that’s expandable via microSD, 13MP main camera and a front facing 5MP selfie camera. Like the previous 2 models, the Galaxy A7 also comes in a premium unibody design that has a metal frame.
As expected with a bigger screen, the on-board battery is larger too at 2,600mAh capacity. Despite that, it carries a much slimmer 6.3mm body, making it the thinnest smart phone from Samsung so far. Overall it weighs 141g which is 18 grams heavier than the Galaxy A5. Apparently there are 2 different variants available – a single-SIM LTE version that runs a 1.8GHz Quad-Core + 1.3GHz Quad-Core set up and a another LTE/3G dual-SIM variant that’s running on a lower 1.5GHz Quad-Core + 1.0GHz Quad-Core combination.
