Sony to update its Xperia Z3 range to Lollipop next month

During Sony’s CES 2015 press event this morning, Sony Electronics COO Michael Fasulo has mentioned that they will be rolling out its Android 5.0 Lollipop sofware update for Xperia smart phones beginning of next month. The update process with start with its current Xperia Z3 range which includes the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

The update is expected to be extended to its former models like the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z1, especially after they have showed a preview of them running on AOSP builds.

So far Sony has yet to release a full smart phone update schedule but they are definitely under pressure to deliver its updates quickly. Just a few days back, Samsung has beaten most of the mainstream (non-Nexus/Moto) brands as they had quickly released its Lollipop treat for the Galaxy S5 flagship in Malaysia.
