The OPPO N3 which was announced recently is finally open for pre-orders in Malaysia. The 5.5″ Selfie-centric device with its 16MP self-rotating camera is priced officially at RM2,098 and it will be available on New Year’s day (1st January 2015).
Similar with their ultra-thin OPPO R5, they are giving extra freebies worth RM406 to those that place their RM100 booking deposit. For the first 3,000 OPPO N3 pre-orders, they are giving out a rapid car charger, screen protector and an O-Click 2.0 bluetooth remote which can be used to control the camera. The pre-order starts from today, 26th November until 20th December. You can place your RM100 booking deposit at their authorised outlets nationwide. The OPPO N3 is currently offered in white colour only.
The OPPO N3 replaces its previous OPPO N1 which has gotten attention for its rotating 13MP camera. With the latest model, they have bumped the camera to a higher 16MP shooter with enhanced optics from Schneider. The camera itself boast a larger 1/2.3″ sensor that’s similar to the Sony Xperia Z1/Z2/Z3. While the previous N1 is rotatable by hand, the new OPPO N3 camera’s module is now motorised and it gets a couple of interesting tricks like automated panorama and object tracking where it moves to keep the subject in frame. For easier selfie shots, you can now operate the OPPO N3 in a single hand by rotating the camera by long pressing and dragging on the display and shots can be taken by press on the rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
The display is a 5.5″ IPS panel that does Full HD (1920×1080) which is quite similar with the OPPO Find 7a. Powering the device is a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage. The expansion slot is pretty interesting as you can choose to have either a 2nd SIM or to use that to add a microSD card. For connectivity, the OPPO N3 gets 4G LTE which was previously lacking on the N1. The VOOC Rapid Charger is also available too and it is rated to charge its 3,000mAh battery from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and features the latest ColorOS 2.0 which it has gotten rid of its app drawer, similar to Huawei’s EMUI and Xiaomi’s MIUI.
