OPPO R5, the world’s thinnest phone is now available for pre-order in Malaysia

If you’re looking for the ultimate thinness when it comes to smart phones, the OPPO R5 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. Retailing at RM1,598, the ultra-slim R5 will be available officially on 27th December 2014. To be among the first to get it, you can pre-order a unit now by placing a deposit of RM100 at their authorised outlets.

As a pre-order promo, OPPO is also giving out extra freebies worth RM306 to the first 3000 customers. This consists of a VOOC car charger, screen protector and phone casing. The pre-order starts now until 10th December and you can pick up your unit on 27th December. Take note there’s a limit of 1 unit per customer.

The OPPO R5 is currently the thinnest smart phone at only 4.85mm and it comes in a hand polished metal unibody design. The front gets a 5.2″ Full HD Super AMOLED display and it runs on Qualcomm’s 64-bit 1.5GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor that’s mated with 2GB of RAM. Underneath its wafer-thin body includes 16GB of storage, a 13MP BSI Sony IMX214 Camera and a front facing 5MP unit with a 83 degree wide angle lens.

Keeping the OPPO R5 juiced up is a 2,000mAh capacity battery which can be charged up quickly with its VOOC charger. It supports 4G LTE and since the device is so thin, there’s no dedicated headphone jack. Instead, it comes with an audio adapter which connects to its microUSB slot.

For more information, you can visit OPPO R5’s product page and you can read the full pre-order terms & condition over here.
