This year Malaysians have witness the invasion of Chinese brands in our local smart phone scene. Before the year is out, another Chinese maker, Meizu is finally arriving in Malaysia officially with its MX4 smart phone. This 5.36″ flagship device will be priced at RM1,099 for its 16GB version and it comes with a choice of 3 colours – Grey,Silver and Gold.
Lazada will be one of their online retail channels and pre-orders are expected to happen very soon ahead of its 28th November 2014 release. Meizu is distributed locally by Blue Kor Sdn Bhd and recently they have just started their Meizu Malaysia Facebook page.
To recap on the specs, the MX4 features a 5.36″ display that does 1920×1152 resolution in an odd 15:9 aspect ratio. Underneath it runs on MediaTek’s newer 2.2GHz MT6595 Octa-Core processor that’s mated to 2GB of RAM. According to AnTuTu, the Meizu MX4 is the top performing smart phone which scored over 48,000 points, and it is higher than the Galaxy Note 4.
While most smart phones these days are using Sony’s 13MP IMX214 camera, the MX4 aims to be a step above with a higher 20.7MP IMX220 1/2.3″ camera that’s commonly found on the high-end Xperia Z series. The front however settles for a 2MP Sony IMX208 camera.
Out of the box, the Meizu MX4 runs on Android 4.4.4 with its own custom Flyme 4.0 OS. Keeping the lights on is a Sony sourced 3,100mAh capacity battery and it also supports 4G LTE in both TDD and FDD-LTE modes. You can read up more about the Meizu MX4 in our earlier post.
