Samsung offers continuity through its family of products with Flow

When iOS 8 was announced, continuity was one of its key features allowing seamless transition across its family of products. This means you can be browsing a web page or working on a document on a Mac, and you can continue from where you’ve left on your iPad or iPhone and vice versa.

Samsung now has also introduced something similar to Apple and it is called Samsung Flow. It works across mode devices including smart watches, Galaxy smart phones, tablets, computers and even its Smart TVs. There are a 3 components for Samsung Flow – Transfer, Defer and Notify. Transfer is pretty straight forward as it pushes your current session onto your next device.

Defer basically lets you “bookmark” your item for later action. You can set a work document to defer on your phone and then pick it up later once you’re free on a tablet or a desktop computer. So when you have a couple of minutes to browse through your work email or personal feed, you can use defer to mark items that you would want to attend to later.

Last but not least, there’s Notify where it pushes notifications to your other devices. For example, if you’re smart phone is charging somewhere else, you can push phone calls or notifications to your TV when you’re in the living room. This way, you won’t be missing out on any notifications or alerts. So far there’s no details yet on actual availability and whether or not it will work with non-samsung devices.

For more information, head over to Samsung’s Flow page.
