GoPro which has become a household name for action cameras will soon face off with a disruptive rival. Xiaomi is said to be working on an action camera of its on which could possibly offer better features for less.
The new Mi action camera is said to be able to shoot 4K videos at 30fps or Full HD 1080p at 120fps. Further more, it has a wide 138 degree angle lens and it supports microSD up to 128GB. Like other Xiaomi products it will be cheap too at 999 Yuan (about RM546). That’s like GoPro HERO4 Black specs for less than their entry-level GoPro Hero3 White’s price.
Will a Mi Action Camera work? Why not? Considering consumers are buying GoPro for not so life-intensifying footages like taking selfies or casual underwater shots. This is where HTC’s Re Camera comes in as a casual day to day camera. If you’ve been considering to buy a GoPro camera, would you wait for the Xiaomi version?
