Just recently Maxis has announced that they have improved their 4G network for greater consistency. With new equipment and overhauled internet backbone, Maxis claims that its customers should experience at least 1Mbps downloads 80% of the time, load popular websites within 8 seconds and no buffering on YouTube 96% of the time.
To put money where their mouth is, Maxis is releasing a new video series on YouTube that’s called Man Vs Network. In their first episode, a sneak preview shows their CTO Morten Bangsgaard betting his life on their 96% buffer-free YouTube experience claim. If you can pause at the right time, it looks like he will be sitting on a movable sofa with a circular saw blade following closely behind.
