Maxis customers among the first in Malaysia to own the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus

Where other operators are getting customers to come to them for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Maxis did something completely different and sent out an army of its staff to personally deliver the newly launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to customers right at the stroke of midnight.

200 eager customers at various locations in Klang Valley, Genting Highlands, Kuantan and even Kuching were among the first owners of the official iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus when they had their order personally delivered to them by Maxis employees. Maxis is the first telco in the country where its employees are personally delivering brand new iPhones at midnight.

One special customer was Rastam Hadi Samsudin, who received his special Maxis Midnight Express delivery from Maxis CEO, Morten Lundal. Rastam was one of the earliest Maxis customers to pre-buy the new iPhone when it was made available in late October, a week before the official iPhone launch in Malaysia. His brand-new iPhone 6 Plus was delivered to him at TGV, Sunway Pyramid, just before he caught a midnight movie at the cinema.

In addition to the delivery, Morten also announced that everyone in the cinema hall with Rastam will receive free movie passes courtesy of TGV Cinemas because they were part of the Maxis Midnight Express deliver service experience.

Other customers who also pre-ordered their devices via the Maxis Online Store were able to self-collect at six Maxis Centres nationwide, namely KLCC, Johor Bahru, Penang, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, between midnight and 4.00 am today. The devices will be then available for walk-in customers at all Maxis Centres and Maxis Exclusive Partners (MEPs) across the country at normal operating hours.
