Just when you thought Chinese smart phone maker Gionee is going crazy thin with its 5mm smart phone, check out what Vivo is up to now. In a pursuit for absolute slimness, Vivo is reported to be making a super thin device that’s slimmer than 4mm. That’s like stacking 2 of the latest 50 sen coins together.

In an apparent leaked photo, it compares against the iPhone 5/5S that’s 7.6mm thin and the new Vivo smart phone appears to be just half of its thickness (possibly 3.8mm). As of now, this is still a rumour and we can’t help to feel that this is getting a too much. Not only this challenges the practicality side of things but we would rather have a little more bulk for a bigger capacity battery. What’s the point of being super thin if requires more charging?

From what we’ve seen so far, most of these ridiculously thin smart phones are quite mediocre in specs compared to its bulkier high-end smart phones in the market. If this is real, expect people trying to be among the first to bend it with their bare hands.
