When we hear Vertu, it’s not the phones that come to our minds first, because it’s not their highlight, but they do have it. The same can’t be said for Bentley however. Everyone, from all income groups, have heard the name of the infamous car brand, that’s known to be luxurious and extremely pricey.

These two luxury brands have formed a partnership months ago, with intention to create a series of luxury smartphones. The first, being named “Vertu for Bentley”, is an Android smartphone that is not only made of the finest materials (like every other Vertu phone), but also running on considerably high specs. The device will feature the Bentley brand, with their logo just at the bottom of the screen.

Material wise, Vertu phones have always been made of interesting and expensive materials. Vertu for Bentley does not fall short of that high Vertu standard. It begins with the device’s housing, made of quilted calf leather that highlights Bentley’s all-time Newmarket Tan. Another coupled material is titanium, that’s masterfully knurled with diamonds to give a tactile finish, and a ceramic pillow to give off that sleek finish that a Bentley has.

As for the specs, it is pretty impressive, considering that most luxury smartphones out there are not made to have high-end specs, as they usually emphasize on the design and luxury materials. The device is similar with the Vertu Aster, featuring a 4.7” 1080p screen (same as the iPhone 6) that’s fronted with Sapphire. The screen has a very high contrast, and is able to push out 473 ppi.

As for performance, the Vertu for Bentley is powered by a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, running 4.4 Android KitKat out of the box, powered by a measly 2275mAh battery. The Vertu for Bentley is only available in one size, and that is 64gb, with no mention of any expandable option. As for camera, it comes with a standard 13-megapixel rear camera with twin LED flash, and a 2.1 Skype compliant front-facing camera. Other features include LTE connectivity, and NFC that’s capable of Qi charging.

This exclusive device will not be easily obtained, not only because of its €12,500 (around RM52,000) price tag, but also the fact that there will only be 2,000 of these bad boys ever made.
