The HTC Desire Eye won’t be the only HTC device that would have all fancy camera features thanks to their Eye Experience. Fortunately, HTC still has not forgotten their flagship the HTC One M8, and has started rolling out their Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for all users to enjoy. The 250MB+ update not only brings it up to the latest version of Android, but also includes security fixes, as well as the Eye Experience camera software. The software said to bring improvement to the One M8’s camera, by adding new features that’s focused on the front-facing camera.
One of the many new features include Face Tracking, a feature that’s capable of tracking up to 4 faces during video chat. Another would be Split Capture, that allows you to capture photos using both the front-facing and rear camera at the same time.
Beautifying filters have been quite the trend lately, and the Eye Experience has added that feature, called Live Make Up, smoothing out your skin for the perfect selfie. The last notable feature would be the Photobooth, where the camera would capture 4 selfies, and merge them into a single image, providing more clarity and definition, in which the One M8’s cameras so desperately need.
The update is currently being pushed out for devices in Europe, along with other countries following up shortly. The firmware version is 3.28.401.6, which varies according to region.
