Nokia Lumia 830 to be launched in Malaysia this week in collaboration with GSC

The folks at Microsoft Devices have just sent invites out for an event which is jointly organised with GSC Cinemas on this coming Thursday, 25th September. Fresh off from IFA 2014, the Lumia 830 is expected to be launched in Malaysia and it offers a flagship Windows Phone experience at an affordable price.

It could be possible that its selfie-centric Lumia 730 could be making an appearance locally as well. As for GSC, details of their collaboration isn’t known yet and they might be launching a special promo for Windows Phone users.

To recap on the specs, the Lumia 830 is a 5″ smart phone with a HD 720p display and it runs on a Quad-Core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. Despite having mid-spec hardware, the Lumia 830 is a serious shooter with its 10MP camera enhanced by Optical Image Stabilisation and ZEISS Optics. Meanwhile, the Lumia 730 which comes with Dual-SIM support is their Selfie centric smart phone that’s equipped with a 5MP front camera. It gets the same processor and RAM as the Lumia 830 but features a smaller 4.7″ display with HD 720p resolution. In Europe, the Lumia 830 and Lumia 730 are priced at 330 Euros (about RM1,378) and 199 Euros (about RM832) respectively. In addition, these models are the first Nokia devices to run on the latest Lumia Denim Update with Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.

Currently both devices have been certified on our local SIRIM database. You can check out our announcement post for more details on the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830.
