Sony SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk leaked ahead of launch

Sony will be making a big announcement this week at the coming IFA 2014. Other than the 3 new waterproof devices, Sony will be launching 2 more smart wearables at the event as well.

The folks at 9to5Google had managed to get a low res image of the upcoming SmartWatch 3 and its SmartBand Talk. Their 3rd generation SmartWatch is said to be running on Android Wear, the same operating system that’s powering the LG G Watch, Moto 360 and Samsung Gear Live. As you would expect, it is water and dust resistant at IP58 and it gets a 1.68″ display with 320×320 pixesl resolution. Design wise, it looks less boxy with the edge flowing smoothly towards the strap.

As for the SmartBand, it adds more functionality compared to the existing fitness focused model. With the SmartBand Talk, it has a curved e-ink display and it likely to get additional phone calls and notification features like its name suggests. So that’s a total of 5 new devices from Sony which will be announced in just 3 more days.
