Popular cloud storage provider, Dropbox is making cloud storage more affordable. They have streamlined its Dropbox Pro offering with 1TB of storage at US$9.99/month or US$99/year. Previously you’ll get just 100GB for the same price and this looks like a response towards Google Drive’s aggressive new pricing. Google is even offering unlimited storage for enterprise users as announced during Google I/O.

Apart from affordable storage, Dropbox has introduced a couple of new features for a better control of your files.

For those who share files for collaboration, they have rolled out new sharing controls for Dropbox Pro users. When sharing a private link to selected users, you can add an extra layer of security with password protection. If that’s not enough, you could also set expiry date to tighten up loose ends. If you just want to share files and don’t want anyone else to edit them? Now you can with a View Only permissions mode.

As Dropbox makes a great centralised storage across different devices, there’s always a risk that your files may be exposed to others if your device falls to the wrong hands. In an event where you actually lose your phone, tablet or laptop, there’s now an option to perform a remote wipe the moment that device connects online. If you are an existing Dropbox Pro user, you’ll get the new features and revised storage automatically.

For more information, check out Dropbox Pro page.
