Faster 4G LTE connectivity shouldn’t be limited to flagship models and HTC is joining the bandwagon of offering affordable 4G smart phones with its new Desire 510. The Desire 510 is a notch below its current RM999 Desire 610 and it comes with a 4.7″ FWVGA (854×480) display and a Quad-Core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor mated to 1GB of RAM.

There’s 8GB of storage on board which can be expanded with microSD cards up to 128GB capacity. For taking pictures, it settles for a basic 5MP camera and a front facing VGA unit. Juicing up the Desire 510 is a removable 2,100mAh capacity battery and it runs on the current Android 4.4 KitKat with the latest Sense 6 UI. Being an entry-level device, it lacks HTC’s signature BoomSound stereo speakers and goes for a standard rear mounted loudspeaker. Overall it weighs 158 grams and it is 9.99mm thick.

In terms of availability, the Desire 510 will be sold in selected European markets, Asia and partner telcos in the US. The Desire 510 polycarbonate body comes with a choice of Terra White and Meridian Grey colours. There’s no pricing for the device yet but it is likely to be priced below RM900 once it arrives here. If you’re looking for a really affordable 4G LTE device, Oppo Malaysia recently has announced the Neo 5 which is priced at RM598.
