China Telecom alleged to have leaked iPhone 6 ahead of schedule

UPDATE: Apparently the posted by China Telecom is actually a render by two Argentinian students. So this isn’t the real deal.

The folks at Cupertino are waiting for the IFA 2014 fever to settle down as the iPhone 6 is expected to be announced on 9th September. One of their partner telcos in China had gotten a little excited and was reported to have published the new iPhone 6 ahead of its official announcement.

The image shown above has already been taken down from its official Weibo account but screenshots of it has already spread all over. From the image, the new iPhone 6 is taking similar design cues as its current iPad Air and iPod Touch with rounded off edges and it has the power button at the sides. Like its current line up, it will be available with 3 colours – Gold, Silver and Dark Grey.
