For HTC’s upcoming One M8 with Windows, they didn’t struggle to think of a new name. It’s simply called as the HTC One M8 for Windows and essentially its the same metal-clad flagship device except for its operating system. In terms of availability, it is released exclusively for Verizon in the US.
To recap on the specs, it gets the same 5″ Super Clear LCD 3 display that does Full HD resolution and underneath it gets a 2.3GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 801 processor (same as the One M8 for the US) with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on-board. There’s also an expandable microSD slot that accepts 128GB cards and the battery is the same 2,600mAh capacity unit.
As you would expect on a new model, it runs on the latest Windows Phone 8.1.1 and it also includes HTC’s own BlinkFeed. The One M8 for Windows retain the same Duo Ultrapixel camera set up, a front facing 5MP camera and Boom Sound Stereo speakers. Overall it weighs 160g and has a thickness of 9.35g, which is exactly the same as its Android equivalent.
So far no word of it going outside of the US, but if it does, would you pick this over Microsoft’s high-end Lumia 930?
