UPDATE: Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G now official. Featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 4G LTE support. Read more over here.
Right after its Mi 4 flagship smart phone announcement, Xiaomi is introducing a newer Redmi Note which claims to be faster and lighter than the current one. If you take a look at the signal bar, the device will be supporting 4G LTE, but it is not known if it will be supporting the full range of TD/FD-LTE when it gets announced. The full specs and variants of the new Redmi Note will be revealed tomorrow.
The current Redmi Note was announced just 5 months ago with a 5.5″ HD 720p display and runs on a 1.7GHz MediaTek Octa-Core processor with 2GB of RAM for its high-end variant. Being a “Note” device, this is a phablet category device which is powered by a large 3,200mAh capacity battery. With the promise of being slimmer and faster, Xiaomi could be bumping its processor to a Qualcomm Snapdragon unit or a faster variant of MediaTek processor with 4G LTE on-board.
Considering the Redmi Note is still new, the newer version might be priced slightly higher if it goes on sale on parallel with the current model. The Redmi Note high-end version is priced at 999 Chinese Yuan and it is currently sold at RM509 in Malaysia. Considering the Redmi Note series have dual-SIM slots, this could be their first model with single-SIM judging by its single signal bar.
