Nokia Lumia 530 to be launched in Malaysia next week

The affordable Nokia Lumia 530 is heading to Malaysia with its launch happening next Tuesday, 12th of August. Announced a couple of weeks ago, the Lumia 530 is Microsoft’s most affordable Windows Phone at a bargain basement price below RM500.

To recap on the specs, it features a 4″ FWGA display that does 854 x 480 and it runs on a entry-level 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 200 processor that’s mated to 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. Despite its low-cost offering, the Lumia 530 supports microSD cards up to 128GB which is rare among entry level smart phones at this price. For imaging, it settles for a flash-less 5MP camera with fixed focus and there’s no camera at the front. With a 1,430mAh removable battery, it is 11.7mm thick and weighs 129 grams.

Can the Lumia 530 succeed where the Nokia X has failed? With the latest Windows Phone 8.1, this gives budget concious buyers assurance that they are having the latest from the platform and what they need is to price this right to seal the deal. Like the earlier Lumia 630, we expect Microsoft/Nokia to release the dual-SIM version which is getting popular among the low cost segment. You can get to know more about the Lumia 530 in our earlier announcement post.
