Meet the Nvidia Shield Tablet – The ultimate portable gaming device

The Tegra K1 processor is Nvidia’s ultimate mobile solution for desktop-class gaming. The Xiaomi Mi Pad is the first tablet to feature such processor and it is even said to be the reference device for gaming developers. If you prefer something that’s suited up for serious gaming, the Nvidia Shield Tablet is the answer that you’ve been looking for.

It gets a practically sized 8″ display that does 1920×1200 Full HD resolution and it is accompanied with a front firing stereo speakers that’s enhanced with dual-bass reflex ports. Like the Mi Pad, it gets Quad Cortex A15 cores running at 2.2GHz and it is mated to 2GB of RAM. For a more intense gaming experience, there’s also an optional wireless gaming console that costs US$59.99 (about RM190) and it connects using WiFi direct. A total of 4 controllers can be hooked up at the same time.

If the 8″ display is too small, you can easily connect the Shield Tablet onto the big screen. It comes with a Mini-HDMI port that’s capable of pushing 4K Ultra-HD resolution. Out of the box, they have included a DirectStylus 2 which can be used for drawing and taking notes. It also gets 5MP camera with HDR capabilities on both front and back, along with a microSD expansion slot. The tablet itself weighs 390grams and 9.2mm thick.

The Nvidia Shield Tablet 16GB WiFi version is going for US$299 (about RM948) while the 32GB version with WiFi + 4G LTE is priced at US$399 (about RM1,265). Check out the Shield promo videos and product photos after the break.
