The LG G3 is a spec topping smart phone with a high-end Quad HD display coupled with a top of the line processor. With newer smart phones featuring water resistance like the Xperia Z2 and Samsung Galaxy S5, can the LG G3 survive accidental spills and drops into water? The answer appears to be yes, sort of.
LG had never advertised the LG G3 as a water resistant device but someone has tried their luck to see if it survives. After leaving it in a filled sink for close to 2 hours, the LG G3 appears to be working fine without any issues. This is a similar story with the HTC One M8, where it survives being submerged for about 90 minutes despite not claiming to be water resistant.
We don’t recommend trying this yourself as damages by water would definitely void its standard warranty. However it is good to know that LG has secretly added some water protection in case of unforeseen mishaps.
