Sony has released its own Selfie-focused smart phone with its Xperia C3. They are claiming it as the World’s best Selfie smart phone with its front facing 5MP camera with wide angle 25mm lens and assisted LED flash. As a smart phone, the Xperia C3 is quite a mid-tier offering with a Quad-Core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
To view your self taken shots, the Xperia C3 gets a large 5.5″ IPS display that does a respectable 1280×720 pixels resolution. To take normal shots, the back camera is a 8MP Exmor RS unit that shoots Full HD 1080p videos. Powering up the device is a generous 2,500mAh capacity battery and out of the box, it runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Overall, the Xperia C3 is quite compact at just 7.6mm and weighs about 150 grams. Faster 4G LTE connectivity also comes as standard.
To live up to its world’s best selfie smart phone claim, Sony has introduced a couple of software enhancements for its front camera. Like its main camera, the front facing camera also gets Superior Auto mode which intelligently picks the best mode for better pictures in any given condition. When it is too dark, the front Soft LED flash claims to emit the right amount of light for natural lighting. As seen in the earlier leaked demo, you can take a Selfie shot easily by double tapping at the back. There’s also a photo retouch feature called Portrait retouch v.2 which lets you apply “make-up” in real-time.
The Xperia C3 will be available in 3 colours – Black, White and Mint. It will go on sale globally starting in August with the Chinese market being the debut country. For those needing multiple operator connectivity, the Xperia C3 is also available in dual-SIM variant as well.
