The Windows Phone platform is expected to see higher growth as Microsoft Device is partnering with more OEMs including non-mainstream brands. In China, an electronic brand called Hisense has just announced the MIRA 6, their first ever Windows Phone 8.1 smart phone.
The Hisense MIRA 6 is a dual-sim device which supports China Telecom’s 4G LTE standards and it is only 7.18mm thin. It gets a 5″ HD display which is likely to be 720p resolution and powering it is a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB of RAM. There’s 8GB of storage, an 8MP main camera and a front facing 5MP unit.
While this is a Windows Phone 8 device, strangely the front capacitive buttons are labelled with Android icons. Pricing has been revealed yet but it should be quite affordable in mainland China. With Chinese brands manufacturing Windows Phone, we would probably see an influx of affordable devices like what we’ve seen in the recent years for Android.
If you’re looking for a high-end Windows Phone 8.1 device, the Nokia Lumia 930 is expected to launch pretty soon. Just recently the dual-sim Nokia Lumia 630 was launched here at RM549.
