LINE celebrates third anniversary with over a Billion downloads

LINE, the mobile messaging app from Japan has just celebrated its third anniversary on 23rd June. To make its occasion more meaningful, they have also achieved a major milestone of raking up over a billion downloads since its birth in 2011.

The social messaging app has evolved tremendously in the past 3 years, from the introduction of Free Calls and Stickers to a series of family apps which integrates well with its core LINE app. Just recently, LINE had also introduced its video call and LINE Premium Call service that lets you make domestic and international voice calls for cheap.

Within LINE’s family app, 14 of them had achieved more than 10 million downloads. Among their popular apps include LINE Camera with over 90 million downloads followed by LINE POP with more than 43 million downloads to date.
