Samsung today launched the Galaxy Tab S touting it to deliver the best viewing experiencing in its class with Super AMOLED display technology. Catering for different needs, the Galaxy Tab S is available in a two sizes — 8.4-inch and 10.5 — both of which features an ultra-high 2560×1600 pixels resolution. Both versions will go on sale in Malaysia from July 11 onwards complete with 4G LTE and will be retail for RM1,699 for the 8.4-inch model and RM1,999 for the 10.5-inch model.
The Galaxy Tab S packs Samsung’s latest Exynos 5 octa-core processor (1.9GHz quad core + 1.3GHz quad core) with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage — in certain markets, the Galaxy Tab S is specced with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. The back of the tablet features the same dimpled texture as the Galaxy S5. Being a flagship tablet, The Tab S is super thin at 6.6mm and weighs 467 grams for the 10.5-inch and 297 grams for the smaller 8.4-inch model. The home button in front also doubles up as a finger print scanner that lets you set separate tablet profiles for different users. In addition to being able to produce true blacks and exceptional brightness, Super AMOLED display technology is a more power efficient than LCD making giving the Tab S great stamina that is further enhanced with the addition to the Ultra Power Saving Mode.
