Unboxed: Xiaomi Redmi 1S

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S is coming very soon and we have managed to unboxed a white colour unit. When the Redmi 1S goes on sale in Malaysia, we will be getting the dark grey version first while the white colour option will be made available sometime later. To recap on the specs, it gets a 4.7″ HD 720p display and is powered by a Quad-Core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of storage. It also gets a 8MP camera and a front facing 1.6MP unit. Under its removable back cover, you’ll find dual-SIM slots, a microSD expansion slot and a 2,000mAh capacity battery.

Similar with its high-end Mi 3 smart phone, the packaging is very basic for lower cost. Apart from the Redmi 1S smart phone, you’ll only get a power adapter and a micro USB cable. In the hands, the Redmi 1S is quite a sturdy device and the software is running on a newer Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI version 5. With a price tag of under RM500, the Redmi 1S will definitely give the Huawei Honor 3C a run for its money. To see how it compares, you can check out our hands-on comparison between the two here.

Check out the Redmi 1S unboxing video and a few of hands-on shots after the break.
