SwiftKey keyboard now available as Free download

The popular SwiftKey keyboard is now available for free on the Google Play Store. Previously offered as a paid app at US$3.99, the intelligent keyboard has switched to a Freemium model. While it is free for unlimited use, SwiftKey will be making money by selling custom keyboard themes.

So what happens to those who have paid for the keyboard? You’ll get a additional 10 keyboard themes for free with their “Premier Pack” that’s valued at US$4.99. On the latest version 5, SwiftKey is introducing a couple new features including an extra row for numbers, an improved prediction engine and a new SwiftKey Store to discover new themes.

SwiftKey is an awesome keyboard which understands your typing habits and is able to predict the next word that you’re going to type. For those who prefer to swipe, there’s also a Flow Keyboard where you can glide away instead of tapping on each individual keys. Even Apple will be including SwiftKey-like features in their upcoming QuickType keyboard on iOS 8.
