The Huawei Ascend P7 with its ultra-slim 6.5mm side profile is the thinnest 4G LTE smart phone no more. It’s homeland rival Oppo has just announced the R3 smart phone that boast an even slimmer 6.3mm side profile. If you plan to get one, unfortunately the Oppo R3 is only available for the Chinese market which is said to be limited to their own local LTE bands.
In terms of hardware, the R3 is quite a mid-tier device with a 5″ 720p HD display and runs on a 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It is a far cry from the Ascend P7’s high spec offering. On-board it gets a 2,420mAh capacity battery and weighs 140 grams, which is heavier than the Ascend P7’s 124 grams. The Oppo R3 will be priced at 2,290 Yuan which is about RM1,181.
