LG G Watch runs on Qualcomm processor. To be available next month and priced below Gear 2 Neo

The LG G Watch which is powered by Google’s Android Wear has been teased for quite some time now. If you have been anticipating this new smart wearable device, more information of its specifications and availability have finally come to light.

The LG G Watch is said to be running on a Qualcomm APQ8026 SoC which is believed to be a variant of its Snapdragon 400 series. The spec sheet continues with 4GB of on-board storage and 4Gb RAM, which is equivalent to 512MB. Keeping the watch ticking is a decent 400mAh capacity battery but surprisingly it is listed with just 36 hours of standby time. The display is a 1.65″ TFT LCD that does a low 280×280 pixels resolution. Overall, the G Watch weighs 61 grams and is 9.95mm thick.

In terms of availability, the LG G Watch is targeted to be released in the UK on 7th July and it is said to be priced below the Gear 2 Neo which costs £169.99 (about RM913). If you compare the specs with Samsung’s Gear line up, the G Watch display is only bigger by 0.02″ but does lower resolution than the Gear’s 320×320 screen resolution.

Even if the G Watch is cheaper by RM100, it looks pretty bare next to the Gear 2 as it offers an integrated camera, IR blaster and even a heart rate sensor underneath. The Android Wear is still new and it will be interesting to see how it proves itself to be better than Samsung’s Tizen based smart watch. The Gear 2 is currently priced at RM899 while its fitness focused Gear Fit is cheaper at RM599.

Check out the alleged G Watch spec sheet after the break.
