Sony has announced yet another mid-spec device in the form of the Xperia T3 which boast the thinnest 5.3″ smart phone with 4G LTE. Looks like the earlier teaser isn’t about the Xperia Z2 Ultra after all. In terms of slimness, it isn’t much to boast about considering there’s only a handful of new 5.3″ smart phones. At 7mm thin, the Xperia T3 is still respectably slim but it is slightly thicker than its 6.5mm thin Xperia Z Ultra.
The 5.3″ TRILUMINOS display does HD 720p resolution and it runs on a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. To expand storage further, there’s a microSD slot as well. For taking pictures, it has a 8MP Exmor RS Camera at the back and a front facing 1.1MP unit. To capture the moment quicker, the Xperia T3 comes with a dedicated camera button at the sides. It also packs a 2,500mAh capacity battery and the Xperia T3 weighs 148grams.
Overall, this smart phone is a compact alternative of its 6″ Xperia T2 Ultra that’s being sold at RM1,299. The Xperia T3 will be rolled out globally by end of July and is available in black, white and purple colours. It runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
