The highly addictive Flappy Bird is set to return in August, reigniting the mindless phone tapping phenomenon once again. This time around, its creator Dong Nguyen says that it will be multiplayer based and promises to be less addictive than before. A few months ago, the popular game was pulled down with the reason that it is too addictive and had unexpected results from his original intentions.
At one point, the free app was said to be making as much as $50,000 a day in mobile ad revenue but the response and publicity surrounding the game was simply too overwhelming for the game developer. Will the new Flappy Birds be as good as the original one? Being a multiplayer game might sound interesting but we are not too sure about the “less-addictive” part. We’ll find out once it gets released in August.
