Sony Xperia Z2 now officially available in Malaysia

The Sony Xperia Z2 is finally available in Malaysia with the retail price of RM2,399. You can purchase it now through Sony’s Online Store. All 3 colours are available – Black, White & Purple. If you order online, delivery is mentioned to take about 3-5 working days.

To recap on the specs, the Xperia Z2 is an improvement over its existing Xperia Z1 with a bigger 5.2″ Full HD display which uses IPS panel for greater viewing angles. Powering the device is a newer 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. It also gets 16GB of on-board storage which can be expanded with microSD up to 128GB.

New on the Xperia Z2 is a dual-front stereo speakers and a built-in Digital Noise Cancellation feature that works with its optional in-ear headphones. The camera is similar as the Xperia Z1 with a 20.7MP 1/2.3″ shooter which now shoots 4K videos while the front comes with a 2.2MP camera. The battery is bigger too at 3,200mAh, which is similar capacity as the Galaxy Note 3.

As you would expect from a Sony flagship device, it also gets IP58 dust/water resistance which can withstand being submerged under 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. Overall the Xperia Z2 is still a slim device with a thickness of just 8.2mm and weighs 163.5 grams. At RM2,399, the Xperia Z2 is carrying the same retail price as the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8.
