Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 officially announced in Malaysia in 7″ and 10.1″ sizes. Available starting next week

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, which is Samsung’s 4th generation of Android tablets are now available in Malaysia. Originally announced in the standard 3 sizes – 7.0″, 8.0″ and 10.1″, we are only getting the 7.0″ and 10.1″ sizes for now. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is priced at RM999 while the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 is at RM1499. In terms of availability, the Tab 4 10.1 shall go on sale first on the 19th May followed by the Tab 4 7.0 a week later on 26th May.

To recap on the specs, both models are pushing a WXGA resolution of 1280×800 pixels and they are running on a Quad-Core 1.2GHz processor with 1.5GB of RAM. Storage wise, the Tab 4 7.0 gets 8GB built-in while the larger 10.1 gets 16GB. Both gets a microSD card expansion slot and Samsung Malaysia is generous enough to give additional free 16GB microSD.

In Malaysia, both Galaxy Tab 4 7.0″ and 10.1″ that we’re getting comes with WiFi and mobile data connectivity. It also has built-in telephony features, allowing you to make phone calls on both Tabs. The Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 supports 4G LTE speeds up to 150Mbps while the 7.0 settles for 3G HSPA+ up to 21Mbps. Out of the box, they are running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat and the latest TouchWIZ UI which is similar with the latest Galaxy S5.
