Huawei has officially revealed its latest Ascend P7 flagship which is currently the world’s thinnest 4G LTE smart phone. Being a successor of its previous ultra-thin Ascend P6, the new Ascend P7 is slightly thicker but is still remarkably thin at just 6.5mm.
The front gets a 5″ Full HD display that does 1920×1080 pixels resolution and it runs on a newer HiSilicon Kirin 910T Quad-Core 1.8GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. On-board, it gets 16GB of storage which unfortunately isn’t expandable and it is expandable with microSD card up to 64GB.
New on the Ascend P7 is support for faster 4G LTE which was lacking in last year’s Ascend P6. With its uprated specs, Huawei still manages to fit a larger 2,500mAh battery and the usage can be extended with a familiar sounding Ultra Power Saving Mode. Huawei claims with just under 10% of battery left, the Ascend P7 can still push 3 hours of usage or 24 hours standby time when Ultra Power Saving mode is enabled.
While the exterior looks similar with the Ascend P6, Huawei has improved its build quality by incorporating a glass back panel with 7-layers of micro patterns. This gives a more premium finish with a metallic feel.
Its photography capabilities is one of its key highlight as well. Over at the front, the Ascend P7 boast a 8MP BSI camera with 5 element lens. Yup, that’s even double the pixel count of some flagship device main camera.
If taking normal Selfie is too mainstream, there’s even a new panorama selfie mode to capture a larger group of people from its front camera. At the back, it gets an upgraded 13MP main camera and taking a picture is even quicker at just 1.2 seconds.
