The HTC One M8 is starting to gain momentum with more countries having the device officially including Malaysia. Now a new rumour as emerged that HTC is working on a HTC One M8 Prime which offers better specs. This sounds like a model that would put HTC ahead in the smart phone race in the 2nd half of 2014.
Some of the alleged specs include a larger 5.5″ Quad HD (2560×1440) display, a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM. Also speculated is a larger 18MP Duo Camera at the rear and a front facing 5MP camera. At 18MP, this definitely is something to look forward to especially those who find that the One M8’s 4MP Ultrapixel camera isn’t up to par. The source also mentions a 16GB of on-board storage and support for faster USB 3.0.
If this is indeed true, HTC would be following the current trend of having 2 flagship models per year like Samsung and Sony. The earlier purported HTC One M8 Ace is now speculated as a cheaper version of the current flagship which slots between its current One M8 and the upcoming HTC One mini 2. Overall this could be HTC’s answer for Samsung’s rumoured high-spec Galaxy S5 which is also known as the F-Series. For now, it is best to take these rumours with a pinch of salt.
