U Mobile to offer Galaxy S5 next week with RM0 upfront payment

Initially absent from the Galaxy S5 Malaysian launch day, U Mobile is also offering the latest Samsung flagship smart phone on the 25th April 2014.

Unlike most typical telco deals which requires upfront payment for contracts, U Mobile will be offering the device with zero upfront payment required. At the moment they haven’t reveal their plans yet. It could be possible that they are offering the device with a slight discount off its RM2,399 retail price tag followed by monthly rebates off the subscription fees. In a nutshell, U Mobile might be subsiding the subscription heavily instead of the discounting the device price, like what DiGi has done before with their iPhone 4 plans.

More details to be revealed on 25th April. The Galaxy S5 will be available at U Mobile Stores next Friday.
