Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 gets an early appearance

Samsung is about to refresh its Galaxy Tab line up with its new 4th generation of tablets. Carrying the name Galaxy Tab 4, it comes with a choice of 7″, 8″ and 10.1″ sizes like its previous series. Thanks to @Evleaks, we have a clearer glimpse of the new 7″ version as pictured above. Like the new Galaxy NotePro tablets, they have replaced the menu button with a contextual one for faster switching of apps. Also visible is the earpiece speaker which allows you to use it for phone calls.

Earlier the Galaxy Tab 4 series was speculated to be announced during Mobile World Congress and now the date from the image above indicates that this could be happening next month on the 24th of April. Head after the break for another image along its speculated specs.

If the specs are true, the new Tab 4 7.0″ is just a minor upgrade over the current Tab 3 7.0″ tablet. The display remains unchanged with a modest 1280×800 pixel resolution. Overall, it is nowhere near the premium and compact Huawei MediaPad X1. For those requiring something better, there’s the Galaxy Tab Pro series which isn’t coming to Malaysia anytime soon.
