Apple has yet to released a low-cost version of its iPad and iPhone devices. For each new model they announced, Apple has still maintained the several generations old models with smaller storage capacities as their affordable option to own an iOS device. The cheapest official new iPhone you can purchase is the 8GB iPhone 4S that’s currently selling at RM1,499. If that’s not old enough, the iPad 2 is still selling at RM1,199 for the 16GB WiFi version.

Word has it that Apple will be retiring these old models tomorrow, giving a fresher alternative for those seeking to buy an official iPhone or iPad for cheap. The colourful iPhone 5C that’s spotted with 8GB capacity is now speculated to be the new entry-level iPhone. Meanwhile the iPad 2 is set to be retired and will be replaced by a lightning-connector friendly 4th generation iPad with Retina Display. The 4th gen iPad was initially discontinued right after the new iPad Air was announced last year.

The pricing of these new entry-level devices are speculated to be priced slightly higher than the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 that we are having right now. Let’s see what happens when the Apple’s Online Store gets refreshed tomorrow.
