Sony has just announced the arrive of its entry-level Xperia E1 dual that’s targeted at music enthusiasts. This is the dual-SIM version and it is available nationwide at RM499.
The Sony Xperia E1 comes with a 4″ 800×480 pixels resolution TFT display and powering the device is a very entry-level dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 512MB of RAM. There’s 4GB of storage on-board and a microSD slot for expansion. For taking pictures, the camera has a rather moderate 3MP camera without supporting flash light. Overall the Xperia E1 is 12mm thick and weighs 120 grams including its 1,750mAh removable battery.
With music playback being a key feature, the Xperia E1 has a dedicated Walkman button at the top which activates the player by pressing and holding it even while the screen is off. If you prefer to listen without headphones, you can crank up the loud speakers that’s rated at 100dB! That’s similar to noise from motorbikes which National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NOISH) recommends exposure of not more than 15 minutes continuously. The last time someone claims to have the loudest speakerphone was the Nokia 600 which didn’t go on sale.
