Nokia introduces Nokia X trio of Android based Smart Phones

Nokia today have announced not one, not two but three new Nokia X smart phones at Mobile World Congress. Nokia isn’t killing off its most affordable Asha smart phones just yet but believed there’s a huge untapped opportunity between its mainstream Asha and affordable Lumia 525 price point. The newly announced Nokia X and Nokia X+ comes with a 4″ screen while the Nokia XL is the biggest of the lot with a larger 5″ display.

Going into the specs, the Nokia X and X+ are running on a dual-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor. In terms of RAM, the Nokia X comes with 512MB while the Nokia X+ has a little bit more at 768MB of RAM. Both models will have 4GB on-board storage and comes a microSD slot for expansion. The Nokia X+ has an extra 4GB card included in the box. The front 4″ IPS display pushes a WVGA resolution of 800×480 pixels while at the back, there’s a 3MP camera.

The larger Nokia XL comes with a 5″ IPS display which also pushes WVGA resolution of 800×480 and similar dual-core 1GHz processor mated to 768MB of RAM. For photography, it comes with a 5MP rear camera and a front facing 2MP shooter.

Nokia X is priced at 89 Euros (about RM405) and it is available immediately in Asia Pacific, Europe, India, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. The Nokia X+ is priced at 99 Euros (about RM450) and the larger 5″ Nokia XL at 109 Euros (about RM500). Availability for the Nokia X+ and Nokia XL is targeted for Q2 this year. The sweeten the deal, new Nokia X range comes with 1 month free Skype Calls to landline and mobiles. All 3 will be available in 6 colours – bright orange, yellow, white, green, blue and black.
