Huawei has taken the covers off its newest smart phone, the Ascend G6. Announced at Mobile World Congress 2014, the Ascend G6 is a mid-range device with a 4.5-inch qHD display (960×540 pixels, 244 ppi) and a average 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor with 1GB of RAM.
Spec for spec, the Ascend G6 is a thicker, plastic-bodied version of the alumium clad Ascend P6. Where P6 is a svelte 6.18mm thin, the G6 is over 1mm thicker at 7.9mm. Connectivity wise, the G6 has 4G LTE support, which is not so common for mid- and low-end devices while pictures are taken with an 8MP BSI rear camera and a 5MP unit at the front.
Out of the box, the G6 runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0 skin on top. The back cover is removable but only to give you access to the microSD and micro-SIM slots, while small 2,000mAh capacity battery is non-removable.
