Next week will be a busy one as new smart phones, tablets and even wearable devices will be announced at Mobile World Congress. Nokia which is expected to announce its upcoming Normandy device, is having a keynote event at Barcelona next week. It is likely that the new device would be called as the Nokia X following its recent leaks and a new teaser where the X marks the spot.
On Nokia’s Weibo account, they have posted a treasure map with the same green marker and another picture with 2 monkeys. We are clueless on the Chinese teaser but all we know is that the Nokia X will be their newest entry level smart phone which will be replacing the Symbian based Nokia Asha.
The new budget device is expected to come with a 4″ WVGA display and runs on a modest dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. Although it is an Android based device, downloading of apps and content are likely done through Nokia’s own proprietary appstore. The price of the Nokia X should be less than RM500, putting it as a device below its most affordable Lumia 525.
The event is happening on Monday 24th of February at 8:30AM Barcelona time which is 3:30PM locally. There will be a live webcast as well which you can view at Nokia’s Conversation Blog.
