Mozilla’s Firefox OS which started for smart phones is now venturing into tablets as well. Details of its upcoming Firefox OS Tablet has just emerged and based from the specs, it is aiming for price sensitive markets where entry level models are huge volume drivers.
The Firefox OS Tablet runs on a quad-core 1GHz (ARM Cortex A7) processor with 2GB of RAM bundled with 16GB of storage. If you need more storage, the tablet also comes with a microSD slot as well. The screen is a 10.1 incher that pushes a modest 1280×800 pixels resolution and juicing up the tablet is a rather generous 7,000mAh capacity battery. There’s even a decent 8MP main camera and a front facing 2MP camera as well.
So far there’s no pricing and availability details yet but it is likely to hit emerging markets first. Somehow the design of the new Firefox OS tablet looks uncanningly similar with the Acer Iconia Tab A500.
