The Galaxy Gear smart watch has just gotten much smarter as it now supports almost all app notifications. Previously notifications on the Galaxy Gear was rather limited and as a result, you would constantly need to refer to your phone most of time. With the latest update, now you can receive notifications from WhatsApp, Hangout and more.
The improvements came just at the right time as its rival Pebble smart watch has just recently announced full iOS 7 notifications support making it much useful than ever. If you have a Galaxy Gear, you would need to update the Galaxy Manager software which is being rolled out starting today. The Galaxy Manager also lets you pick apps that you wish to receive notifications on your watch. To update manually, you can head over to the Samsung Apps Store.
Apart from the Galaxy Note 3 and Note 10.1, the Galaxy Gear is also supported on more Galaxy devices. Just recently the Galaxy S4 has just received its Android 4.3 update which comes with support for the smart watch and this should be followed shortly for Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III.
